Lucknow Super Giants entered the IPL in 2022 and have yet to win a title, reaching the playoffs in their debut season before finishing mid-table in subsequent years. The franchise is known for its aggressive batting approach and has built a reputation for nurturing young Indian talent alongside experienced overseas stars.

In IPL 2025, LSG finished fifth on the points table, missing out on playoffs after a late-season slump despite strong individual performances. They showed promise in the powerplay but struggled with middle-over consistency and death bowling.

For IPL 2026, LSG retained Rishabh Pant, Nicholas Pooran, Mitchell Marsh, Aiden Markram and Mohammed Shami while releasing Ravi Bishnoi, David Miller, Aryan Juyal, Rajvardhan Hangargekar and Akash Deep. Their core strength lies in explosive middle-order batting and Shami’s experience, but they lack variety in spin options and need greater depth in pace bowling.

With a full auction purse, they should target Devon Conway for stability at the top, Wanindu Hasaranga to bolster spin, and Anrich Nortje to strengthen the pace attack.
