Gujarat Titans

Gujarat Titans are a relatively new IPL franchise that made an immediate impact by winning the title in their debut 2022 season and finishing runners-up in 2023. They have since established themselves as a competitive side known for balanced squads and smart drafting under captain Shubman Gill.

In IPL 2025 the Titans finished fifth on the points table, missing the playoffs after a mixed campaign marked by strong batting displays but inconsistent bowling. Their middle order showed promise, yet death bowling and middle-over control remained areas of concern.

Ahead of IPL 2026, Gujarat Titans have retained Shubman Gill, Rashid Khan, Sai Sudharsan, Kagiso Rabada, Jos Buttler, Mohammed Siraj and Prasidh Krishna, while releasing Sherfane Rutherford, Mahipal Lomror, Karim Janat, Dasun Shanaka and Gerald Coetzee. Their core batting and spin attack remain intact, giving them a solid foundation.

Strengths include explosive top-order batting and quality spin options, while weaknesses lie in death-over bowling and middle-order depth. With a reported auction purse of around 30-35 crore, they should target Devon Conway for stability, Cameron Green for all-round balance, and Gus Atkinson or Anrich Nortje to strengthen the pace attack.
